Monday and Tuesday

Four postcards from two days and all are coming from different places :')

16th of January
There is first one postcard from United States, showing waterfront of Seattle. Seattle is that kind of city that I know it appear but I'm never really thinking where it is... Now I know~
Very nice horse postcard from Lithuania and it's actually showing Horse museum which is in Anyksciai, Lithuania. I like this postcard very much! I should vivsit that museum someday ^^
And third one is from Germany, very lovely view and there is text "Freundschaft, das ist eine Seele in zwei Körpern." on it. ("Friendship is one soul in two bodies"). I would like to take carriage drive there too...

17th of January was for Canada

I got new flag for my collection~ I took a moment just watching this and thinking what it brings on my mind, Answer is: Icehockey... ;')

4th and 5th of January

Yeah, yeah, I'm being lazy again... Oh well, last week there was two days when my post box was happy (and Friday was freeday here so no post)

From 4th of January
Top one is from Firenze, Italy and I got it from postcard swap. Hope sender will received my answer card soon! I really like this one. Colours and view are very nice and everybody who likes to play Assassin's creed will recognize those towers (I'm AC-fan too...) Unfortunaly you can't see colouring so well since there is two weird lights on photo (from my camera)
Another one is from United States and showing Rockefeller Center from New York. Very great postcard and it's nice to get one from such famous place. Since I live literally middle of forest (my home city is surrounded by three forest and a lake) so I can't even imagine so big city than NYC! Biggest city where I'm never been was Brussels, capital of Europe, and there is about 2 milj. people there, I think. New York is much bigger.

Thursday I got quite suprise. This nice cat postcard from Singapore:

My first one from here so I used moment to find out which kind of place Singapore is. I found out it's small country (actually city if I understod right) with population about 6 millions. And it's very multicultural place since there is people from all around Asia.
Thank you for a nice postcard! I also took photo of stamp / postmark since it looks good ^^

Post of 27th - 29th Dec.

Hello again~ I'll put all three days post on same so I don't need to make three small.

(From 27th of December)
I got two postcards like you can see on photo above. First is from Holland and it became immediately of my very favorite postcards! It's just so... perfect. And I was really lucky to got another amazing postcard on same day. That cat came from Japan and I heard photo is taken by photographer "Iwago Mitsuaki" I like this kind of cat photo where cat is natural and maybe he/she is just been around when photographer is being looking for something nice to take photo, I think. (I hope you understand what I tried to say...)

(From 28th of December)

Also 28th day I got two postcards. That cat one is from Germany (photo by Miroslav Ptácek) Like a day before, I found also this cat postcard very naturel and nice looking. I put it together with next one in my postcard album. They looks very good next to each others ^^
Another one is from Belarus and it became also one of my favorites! I was looking those kind of postcards from Postcrossing gallery and hoped I would get one too. I was so happy when I saw this on my post box ^^

(From 29th of December)
And last ones. Actually I got five postcards but one was from my friend who is in Italy at this moment and
I'll put photo of it later ^^''
In order, first horse postcard is from Germany and sender gave me web address to her homecity's page. (http://www.bochum.de/) It's actually not so far away from there where I lived when I was in Germany ^^ My place was just little closer of border of Netherlands.
Beautiful landscape is from Belarus and it came with greetings form Minsk, capital of Belarus. Next of it is nice postcard from India. Also my first one from there so it makes this also special one.
Last in photo is very beautiful Christmas card form Ukraine. I like it very much and there was little poem(?) inside of it, but I didn't understand text... I took photo and put it there on end. (otherwise I could try to translate this, but I can't make those letters on my laptop and that makes it a bit difficult ^^'')

Thank you everybody for wonderful postcards! Today was last day before New year that I received post so those ones was my last postcards for this year. How wonderful year 2011 was! Even I didn't do lot of post things but I made some adventures and spent really nice time. I wonder what will happen next year?

Last days

Hi~!

My post box is been quiet later days (I think it's because post offices are so busy with all Christmas greetings and stuff like that) So I got two postcards after all.

(Click to see bigger. My table didn't looks good so I used my laptop as backround... Look, scandinavian letters~ ^^'')
This postcard came from Moscow, Russia. Portrait of Anton Chekhov (Антон Павлович Чехов / Anton Tšehov) He was russian writer who is very famous also nowdays.

(Sorry for bad quality. It was dark already and my room's lights are not good for taking photos... Well, this time part of cd-collection is doing job of backround.)
This one is from Gdánsk which is city in North part of Poland. Actually it seems to be located right next to Baltic sea. This is second time when I got postcard from there but first one was showing night view of city and this shows St. Mary's church. It's the biggest brick church in the world!

Thank you for you both for a great postcards!

And next time I'll received post at 27 of December so happy holidays everyone!

Post of 19th of Dec.

(Click the photo to make it bigger)
So here is today's post :') I was thinking to take photo of all of them but I noticed it would take more time to load and maybe this is better. Anyway, I'll look something else it this is not working.

Yeah, five postcards today and they are all lovely! If I start from photo's order... First one is Christmas card from Berlin, Germany. (in photo: left up corner) I like this colours very much, it's very warm but not all "bling bling"... Actually just perfect Christmas feeling!

Second card form above line (I think I don't know how to say... it's middle one...) is from Texas, U.S.A. It's showing Bluebonnets (I tried to find Finnish name for those but I didn't find it...) Those flowers are State flowers of Texas and that was new information for me ^^ Had every states their own flowers? I know that most of nations have but I didn't know about states.  Also, I love those small photos on back side of this postcard (I didn't take photo of it so you can't see... I didn't want to put my address here ^^''')

Third postcard is from Estonia! This was second time when I got card from there (first time was swap card). It's Christmas card and there was text inside of it:

"Palju soojust ja õnne te kodule,
palju päikest te tublile perele,
palju rõõmu ja virkust te silmile,
palju toredaid päevi uude aastasse!"

Translated it in Finnish:

Paljon lämpöä ja onnea kotiisi,
paljon aurinkoa sinun kelpo perheellesi,
paljon iloa ja ... kasvoillesi,
paljon mukavia päiviä uuteen vuoteen!
(edelleen saa sitten korjata minua... en muista/tiedä, mikä on "virkust" suomeksi ^^'' Ma räägin natuke eesti keelt aga ma ei tea mis on "virkust" soome keelel. Kas te saaksite mind aidata, palun? Aitäh :')

You see, there is something similar between Finnish and Estonian...

Next one! Really adorable one from Netherlands. "Fijne kerstdagen en een goed 2012" means "Merry Christmas and good 2012" I love this card, it's looks so great with cat and that Christmas decoration... I know what cat is thinking! :'D

And alst but not least (<--- Always wanted to say that!) A great tulips postcard from Netherlands! Oi, how I love tulips cards! I tried to find my favorite from those tulips but I ended to like them all. (Seriously, I feel soemtimes like little child with my tulips addiction... I'm actually 20 years old and mature enough to travel around Europe but its doesn't matter ^^''')

Thank you all so much! This was really great post day. Now I hope that postcard which I sent, will find their home soon. I have some nice new card and I want to send them too~

Bye~!

Post of 13th and 14th of Dec.

Hello~

I have now two postcards on my table. One from yesterday and one which I got today (btw, I always register postcrossing cards on same day when I got them. Usually it's around 10-12 o'clock in Finland's time ^^ but I'm sometimes to busy to write blog so this would be day or two late...)

Anyway, I got really nice postcard with recept of Glühwein (in Finnish: glögi) I think I' write it here! I'll do it in German so it's correct.

Rezept für Glühwein

Zutaten: 3/4 Liter Rotwein (z.B. Gôtes-du-Rhône), 1/4 Liter Wasser, 3 Gewürznelken, 2 Zimtstangen, 2 Stück Sternanis, 1 ungespritzte Zitrone, 1/2 ungespritzte Orange, 3 Esslöffel Zucker

Zubereitung:

Thank you for sending this!

Then I got today a nice and colorful postcard from Portugal. It is sent from Braga, which is city in North part of Portugal, but this card is showing Lisboa, capital of Portugal, and its oldest part, Alfama. Thank you for this!

That's all I think. See you!

Post of 7th and 8th of Dec.

Hi!

I was pretty busy yesterday so I didn't update my blog. But I'll do it now~

Yesterday I got two postcards! From Spain and Italy. I have not much cards from those countries so I was pretty suprised to get them on same day (oh well, I'm always happily suprised when I go to get post and there is postcards or letter or sometimes even packets! ...Packets are usually for my sister who is more active with letter friends than me. I got all postcards ^^ but anyway, I'm always happy no matter where posts are from.)
So, postcard from Italy is showing historical centre of city in Avellino's Province. There is also name "Calitri" so it's name of that city, I think. It seems to be located in Southern Italy. Very nice, have to remember that place if I visit Italy some day. Thank you for sending this me!

And Spanish one~ It's also view card and showing place in Gran Canaria, named Maspalomas. I know that place, there is lot of tourist who visit there every year. Also lot of Finns, I think. I'm never visited in real tourist places but why not some day. Thank you for you too!

Today I got three postcards! Russia, China and Italy

From Moscow, capital of Russia, I received very nice kitten postcard. Its looks so cute! And there is also stamps which I'm not seen before. They are shaped like snow flakes and looks pretty. I wonder if they are some new design? I got lot of postcards from Russia before and I don't remember to see those kind of stamps before. (oh, but now I looked closer... There is text "Russia 2009" so I suppose they are not new design... I'm not just got them before =D) Thank you for this!

Postcard from China is also great! I had very nice post day today.
This card is showing painting of Théodore Géricault. I didn't know name so I googled it and learnt that he was French painter and this postcard show his work named "The Epsom Derby". Thank you!

Then I received swap- postcard from Italy, Venice (in Finnish we wrote it "Venetsia" so I try all the time write it in English Venezia...Oh, it's like that in Italian, nice~) This is showing some of condoles. Venice is one of my number one must-to-visit place. It's been it since I read one wonderful book about it. I think I was 12 years old and I don't remember name of that book anymore but I remember some things. Canals, condoles, festival... I loved that book, I think I have to try to find it again.
Thank you too for sending this!

That was all today ^^ And btw, I was thinking of way how I tell about postcards here and I choose that I'll not say senders names or user names here because I'm not sure if they want it or not. So just for case I'll keep names off. I'm still sure that if you sent me postcard, you'll regonaise yours =D

Have a nice day / evening / night!

Today's post 5. Dec

Hello!

Today I got two postcards and them both are with picture of animal. One nice postcard From Russia with black horse and one also very nice from Ukraine with cat. I like them both very much, thank you!

I wonder if there is other people who like to see what their home country's name is on another languages? Sometimes I wrote it on postcard which I send, in address right next to English name. I do that because we have very different names for other places and I think maybe people are curious like me ^^'

For example in English Finland is Finland, you know it. But actually "Finland" is name gave by Swedish, in Finnish it is "Suomi". Looks completely different, right? I'll tell some others...Um... If I start with our neighbours. Sweden = Ruotsi, Norway = Norja, Estonia = Viro or Eesti and Russia = Venäjä. Then there is some names which are almost same or same in English. Like Ukraine = Ukraina, Taiwan = Taiwan. And so on, I'm sure there is lot of others names in others languages =D

Other things! I found out that if I want receive free stamp news from Post office, I need only sent them my address (they know it already...) and I will get five times of year little news paper about what kind of new stamps designs there is. It would be funny! I'm anyways looking all the time if there is new stamps so I don't need to seek anymore because I'll get nice letter to home which tell me everything about stamps (okay, I explained it weird but I think you get idea ^^')

That's all today. Tomorrow I'll not get post so next time will be Wednesday.
See you~!

Today's post 2.Dec.

Today I got one postcard. Really nice one from Poland and there is map on it! I like to see maps and look up places with different names. Also Polish looks very nice language, you have so many special letters like ę, ą and ł (I can't make them with my scandinavian keyboard so I copy pasted those ^^'' But I can do these specials: ä, ö and å) and I think there is often more consonants than vocals on words so I wonder how you pronounce them? I have to visit Poland once and hear it :')

I noticed that now I'm sent 126 postcards and received 117 so there is at least nine cards travelling somewhere. I hope they are not going to get lost! At weekends we don't get post and then there is Independence day on Tuesday so no post then either.

I need to go buy more stamps, I used my all already even usually I have always some. But I think, I'll visit library today so I can stop shop on my way.

Bye~
